Kelowna Okanagan Lake Hostel is an independent hostel. Many official hostels which belong to the same parent organization (such as Hostelling International) adhear to strict rules such as 5PM check-in, lockout during the day or a curfew at night. At Kelowna Okanagan Lake Hostel, we make sure to stay flexbile and provide the most convenient and comfortable stay for all guests.
Our hostel has been remodelled to provide more but smaller rooms. Hostelling is a philosophy (Rick Steves once said) and an opportunity for a chance to live simply and cummunally with people from around the world.

A Few Things to Note
Not limited to young people. We welcome all ages to stay at Kelowna Okanagan Lake Hostel. If you are able to walk, eat and sleep, we can provide comfortable quality accommodation for you and your family.
Bedding is included. Bed sheets, pillow and blankets are provided. These comfy materials are always washed when the previous guest checks out. These sheets are top Hotel quality, so do not worry and bring yourself with your luggage and enjoy a sound and comfortable sleep.
Breakfast is available. Kelowna Okanagan Lake Hostel features a self-serve kitchen, complete with utensils, pots and pans. Pancake mixes, syrup, coffee and tea are avaialble. You can be your own chef, control how many pancakes you'd like to eat, how thick the mixture can be. Eggs, seasonal fruits and bread are included as well (limited quantity per guest). If you are still hungry, make some food for yourself. Don't forget... Safeway grocery store is just right across from our hostel! Convenient location for all travellers, a great budget aid. Our Dining Center is furnished with a TV for entertainment, a dining table, chairs, plenty of plates, cutleries, cups and glasses. The Kitchen Facility and Dining Center is open during Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner hours. Maggie sometimes leave the Dining Centre open in between hours but may lock this for security reasons. Be sure to check with Maggie first when you check-in.
The Host, Maggie, is super nice. Maggie speaks fluent English and Mandarin Chinese. She has been in Canada for 10 years after moving from Asia. She enjoys speaking to people from all over the world. She is interested in every guest. If you have stories to share, don't forget to tell her all about it! If you are not a people person, she will understand too :)
Dormitory rooms can be booked by a large group of guests. Although our dormitory rooms are separated by gender by default. It is possible to reserve a whole entire room for a group of guests. Don't forget to contact Maggie and she will arrange something special for you and your friends! (Please do understand that it is upon availability of space).
